The traditional Midsummer cruises aboard M/S Aino take you through the rich natural heritage landscapes of Lake Saimaa. In addition to the stunning scenery, the route passes through 19th-century canals and past historic villas, while offering a glimpse of how Midsummer is celebrated along the shores.
In summer 2026, the Midsummer Eve cruise departs at 19:00 from Ristiina (Market Square pier, Torikuja 1). The route travels through Uittamonsalmi and Yövesi, via the open canal of Kirkkotaipale to Someenjärvi, and through the Varkaantaipale canal to Louhivesi. From Louhivesi, the cruise continues via Pyörö and Juurisalmi to Mikkeli harbour, arriving at approximately midnight.
The Midsummer menu is prepared and served by Saimaa-based local food expert and head chef Ilkka Arvola, known for his uncompromising use of fresh local ingredients and wild produce.
A high-quality buffet menu will be served. The chef will be present on board.
