AINO is a historic inland vessel built in 1893, which has served passengers on Lake Saimaa and Lake Päijänne. Today, Aino is based in Ristiina, Mikkeli, on Lake Yövesi in the Saimaa region.
Captain Otto knows the local waterways thoroughly, and with Aino you can travel through island passages and open channels in the stunning natural scenery of Southern Saimaa. Our special destinations include the prehistoric rock paintings of Astuvansalmi and the open channels of Lake Someenjärvi. The Saimaa ringed seals of Yövesi also occasionally come to greet “Astuvan-Aino” during cruises.
Aino’s home harbor in Ristiina is just a 15-minute drive from Mikkeli and offers travelers immediate access to one of the most beautiful parts of Lake Saimaa right from the harbor. We also operate scenic cruises from the harbors of Mikkeli and Anttola, as well as Hop On Hop Off excursions to destinations such as Puumala.
As an additional service, we offer a 48+1 seat tourist coach for charter transport. We operate charter drives throughout Finland and across the EU. We regularly run trips to Estonia, and our bus has also been used for multiple aid missions to Ukraine from 2022 to the present day, giving us solid experience in international transport.
Through our company, Saimaan Laivaosakeyhtiö Oy, we also offer electric bikes for rent. Currently, we have two Trek Marlin+ 6 e-bikes available. Rentals can be arranged through our sales service.
